British tabloid The Sun published photos on April 16 showing Ferguson outside a mountain property in casual clothes — blue jacket, dark trousers and a white baseball cap — carrying a tote bag. Her last confirmed public appearance before that was at the christening of her granddaughter Athena in December 2025.

Royal context

Ferguson and ex-husband Prince Andrew have kept a low profile since September 2025; Andrew was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Ferguson has not been accused of any wrongdoing. The couple lost some royal privileges last year and have adjusted their living arrangements as they consider next steps.
