Taylor Swift is being sued by a former Las Vegas showgirl who says the star's album title copies her brand — and the courtroom drama is heating up. Read on to discover the full story!
On March 30 Maren Wade (real name Maren Flagg) filed a complaint alleging Swift's album title "The Life of a Showgirl" infringes her 2015 trademark "Confessions of a Showgirl." Wade says she has used that name for cabaret shows, a podcast and a newspaper column and asked a judge for a preliminary injunction to stop Swift's use, arguing ongoing album sales harm her business. Her attorney also said the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office refused Swift's registration as confusingly similar.
