Maya Rudolph made her Broadway debut in Oh, Mary! on April 28 as Mary Todd Lincoln. Her engagement, originally scheduled through June 20, has been extended to July 5. She stars with Phillip James Brannon, Cheyenne Jackson, Bianca Leigh and Tony Macht.
Oh, Mary! opened at the Lyceum on July 11, 2024. Written by Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton, the play reimagines Mary Todd Lincoln as a discontented, hard-drinking would-be cabaret star. The production has repeatedly smashed box-office records at the venue, becoming the first show there to top $1 million in a single week and breaking its house record 14 times. During Rudolph's first week, a single performance grossed $199,935 on May 1 and the week ending May 3 brought in $1,540,979.58. The show has recouped its investment, extended through Jan. 3, 2027, and has West End dates plus a North American tour launching in Hartford in September.
